Why Preschoolers AREN'T Too Young For Disney

I am amazed how many times I hear, "We're waiting until they're older to take them to Disney."

One of the reasons Disney means so much to me is that it offers something different for every age group!  Aside from my daredevil children riding every roller coaster they could get on at age 5, there is just something magical about taking your young kids to Disney!

1. Everything Is Magic

When you take your children to Disney as preschoolers, they aren't meeting a character.  They

are meeting Mickey Mouse and Rapunzel and Tinkerbell.  They aren't seeing animatronics, they
are seeing pirates and dinosaurs and mermaids.  They aren't marveling at how the for
ced perspective on Main Street makes the castle look taller than it is (I'm not a nerd, you're a nerd!), but instead wondering what princess lives there and is there a dragon?! Preschool age is the perfect time to expose your kids to Disney, because it inspires them to believe in magic and dreams coming true!

2. Attractions

I often hear that people want to wait until their child can "ride all the rides."  By waiting, though, you're really missing out on the age where flying with Dumbo or visiting singing Tiki Birds, or riding a boat in the jungle inspires awe!

3. Characters

I'm sure it's no surprise to hear that kids love to meet their favorite characters.  There are plenty of opportunities at all the Disney destinations, and it never fails to delight preschoolers to meet their heroes!

4. Sometimes Kids Surprise You!

You really never know how daring your little ones will be!  We had to change up our whole game plan after our first rides at Disney because all my 4 and 5 year old kids wanted to do was ride roller coasters!

5. They WILL Remember!

I know, I know they may not remember every detail of your vacation.  But they WILL remember the magic.  I remember my first Disney trip when I was 6.  It is just  so special to experience something so big and special with the people you love that really sticks with you!

6. You Have Options!

While I love Disney World in Florida for Preschoolers, I understand that the sheer size and volume of the resort can be overwhelming if you are looking for a relaxed family vacation.  If you want a theme park experience, Disneyland can offer you a much more laid-back vacation.  The parks are smaller in size with lighter crowds and less structured planning.  It can be a great option for families who aren't ready for the  pace and HEAT of a Disney World trip.

Disney Cruise Line is another great option for families with littles.   There are areas specifically dedicated to preschoolers.  There are excellent shows, deck parties, and character meeting opportunities to provide the Disney magic you're looking for.  And most importantly, there is a kids club that allows you to get in some adult time!  You can read more about what the Cruise Line has to offer here.

Aulani, Disney's resort in Hawai'i, is also a great option for a relaxed family vacation.  In addition to the stunning beaches of Ko Olina, Aulani also offers a great water play area, snorkeling, and a kids club.  The adults in your party can have some grown up time in multiple adults only areas while your kids are having a blast at the club.  Click here for an overview of what Aulani has to offer.
